I'll have to get some pics - believe mine is about the same shape as lowracer's. I just used a black and decker buffer with a lambswool buffer.
We've decided to completely disamble the range cause of the gunk and the off oven cleaner has removed some paint. Have discovered some rust inside the unit.
Sooo, Our through cleaning will involve some rust removal and paint. How do you remove the front panel.

Ron,
I have gotten so many questions on what we used, I did a posting called, "What we used on Big Bertha". That should help you some. Be sure to order a "service manual" for your model!! You'll need it to disasemble your stove. That in itself is a timely process. Just as Lowracer, he'll confirm that too. Have lots of ziploc baggies and a sharpie to write you discription of what screws are for what & take lots of digital pics as you go. Read my post, that will get you started.
Good luck!! It's so worth it!!

I can say it is possible to disassemble the unit without the service manual. But it's a lot easier with. To remove the front panel, you have to take off the side panels, then remove a bunch of bolts holding the front panel on, then remove the oven door latch keeper. It just twists off. You'll know when you've gotten all the bolts off. The front panel will come off easily. If you have to force it, you didn't get all the bolts. You can break the porcelain if you force it so be careful!

Ron,
Disregard my PM, I haven't been able to get on this board for a couple of days.
You did a great job on polishing the stovetop!!
Have you tried to polish the t-well cover?? Any luck?? I'd love to get it a more "mirror" shine if it's possible. But that's Hubby's dept.
It's funny that what we find underneath, when we put some elbow grease into our Chambers. Ours was just nasty with layers of grease and gunk.
After the first cleaning it looked so much better!! But the black stovetop was a different story!!
